PJ's Coffee Goes to Ground
Jul 17th, 2014
The hometown brewers at PJ’s Coffee have announced a plan to bring pre-ground coffee blends to local grocery stores. PJ’s already offers bagged whole-bean coffee in shops, and introduced single-serve cups in grocery stores last summer. In July, PJ's is cutting another step out of the daily grind. The ground coffee offerings will be available in 12-oz. bags, and distributed to select grocery stores in New Orleans and Mississippi. Flavor offerings include Carnival Blend, French Roast, Decaf, and Chicory on Chartres. Additionally, PJ’s packaged range will include a festive seasonal flavor, currently Southern Wedding Cake. Along with opening up options to people who don't have a countertop grinder around, Jones hopes the move will position PJ’s as a competitor to other major coffee brands with an existing presence on supermarket shelves. “When it comes to purchasing traditional coffee, consumers rely on habit, and we’re taking an extra step to keep PJ’s Coffee top-of-mind," says PJ’s toastmaster Felton Jones. The bags will retail for a suggested price of $8.99.
